Am i the only one that think the seat belt law is ridiculous?

I agree with you. Not so much that we should or should not harness ourselves to the seat of a car, but the design of the damn thing!!! Take a penger for instance, the belt cuts right through the right side of the neck, for a woman, cuts right between her , then the belt locks in to place. You have an accident, your body has no place to go, and you are held rigid! Sure! you don't get thrown out of the car by way of the window, but you could be dead just the same by the belt cutting your neck off and crushing your chest! These seat belts are NOT made for the individual - they are all standardly fitted! The manufacturer didn't take into account we are all shapes and sizes!! I think there could be a better design for these seat belts, and a lot more comfortable AND safer! And what about kids! They say, up to a certain weight and height, they ought to be in a child's car seat! Even THEY aren't safe, and then you spend time trying to figure out how to secure the regular car seat, which ain't easy! NOW! I have to say something about the release of this belt!! That on doesn't always work! and it is hidden between the two front seats! You are in an accident, and you are unconcious! The car is burning, and you are stuck there like a pig on a spit!! Who is going to stick their hand into a burning car to push that release on so they can get you out!??
