Anime fan looking for a good series to get addicted to?

ok so i really like underdog anime u know like naruto or Katekyo hitman reborn or history's strongest disciple where the basic plot is that the character improves as the story goes on. i want another interesting series to get hooked on not too serious with its funny moments etc. not really a big fan of mecha rel anime but anything else is ok (o yea preferably a male protagonist cuz i think anime chicks are pretty annoying generally)
