New york (east coast) hip hop?

OK big question. What is something OTHER than the harlem shake and the chicken noodle soup came out from the east coast (meaning new york area) not south. It seems like the south comes up with everything (motorcycle, walkin it out, heel toe) I know the south is still on the east coast but im talking more new england. I think the east coast came up with the 2 step but anything else??
