Using clear orchid pots for other plants,is this advisable?

I am going to bring in seeds to my kids' kindergarten so the cl can grow their own plants,but I would like for the kids to see the roots as they grow,so they get to see the whole process.I have seen clear plastic pots for orchids,but I was wondering if those pots would be able to be used with other plants grown from seed (most likely nasturtium) or if there is a reason not to.Thanks in advance for any help!
