How to control an accent?

I do it, too. I tend to adopt the accent of the person that I'm speaking with. It was funny when I used to work at a theme park because I would occasionally meet people from the UK or other Europeans and end up mimicking their accents while they sat for their caricature. Then my coworkers would accuse me of doing it and I wouldn't even realize that I HAD done it.
