My ex wants me back and i am afraid to get back!:S?

he was my first boyfriend and i loved him truly and we were together for 8 months and i believed he was different from others.when he dumped me i was shcoked and for 2 months i wa so desperate and depressed and my dream was that one day he comes back well that day came and he told me that he still loves me and he broke up bcz he was scared to lose me in a bad way and that now his love increased toward me and i was happy but i told him let us be friends for a while to get to knw each other better. well im scared im really scared and i dnt knw what to do
