Why are artists such as lil wayne and soulja boy being held responsible of hip hop losing its roots?

i dont think lil wayne killed it soulja boy did kinda even tho we should respect him because he getting his money..i liked lil wayne all the way from the block is hot & when he was with the hot boyz but after carter 2 i dont really like him that much anymore im not hate'n because he making money & i can respect that so i dont think anyone is killing hip hop its just that diffrent people like diffrent things..the game,papoose nas,young jeezy my fav rappers right now
